Amazing Action Pics!

Thanks to Abi Taylor, we have some fantastic shots for the gallery of the Love Not Money riders in action at Derby, like this one from Saturday of Sutty in the thick of it in 30-34 Cruiser.

Check out Abi’s site for galleries of race pics.

LNM are Dynamite in Derby

Wow. It’s several hours since racing finished at Derby for Rounds 3 & 4 of the Monster Energy British BMX Series and I’m still buzzing.

The Derby club put on a fantastic event and the Love Not Money riders performed brilliantly, with a handful of finals appearances and everyone giving their all.

A massive thank you to all the riders and team supporters for this weekend. We’ve only just started, but already we’ve got a great team spirit and are getting noticed for our results. Roll on Braintree!!!

Pics and results are on their way

Big Weekend

The LNM Race Tour moves on to Derby for Rounds 3 & 4 of the Monster Energy British BMX Series this weekend.

With the team growing and riders training hard, this promises to be a big weekend for Love Not Money. Derby is a long track, with 400+ metres of lung busting, leg sapping riding to test the racers.

Updates will follow after the weekend

If I’m not recovering….

Great performance from Boyband

Just shy of 150 riders travelled to Hartlepool to tackle the 5 berms and 6 straights of this fast flowing track.

Reduced rider numbers didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for racing and the atmosphere was great with commentating duties performed by the Northern Monkey himself Rich Eames who was doing breathless race calls after also riding in 35-39 Cruiser.Rich’s site theridenation.com is well worth checking out when you’ve finished reading this!

Despite forgetting his race pants and having to wear his jogging bottoms (thankfully this isn’t Secondary School PE from the 1980′s, otherwise he would’ve had to race in his undies) LNM’s Andy Clucas was on great form in Payback. The racing was Grand Prix format due to the low rider numbers, with Andy up against locals Jack Hall and Adam Smith as well as in form Jordan Hayes and Grant Hill.

Andy was right up there all day but pedal problems slowed him down. 4th place overall on the day ws still a great result as he looks to do well at next week’s Nationals in Derby.

I was up against a much reduced field in 30-34 Cruiser, with Nigel Smith my only rival. Still…2nd place on the day produced some nice points for the series!

All in all, a great day of racing at Hartlepool, big thanks to North East BMX Club.

Roll on Derby!

We Get Around Tour moves on to Hartlepool

The race season is now in full swing and sees riders heading to Hartlepool for Round 2 of the North Region Summer Series.

Hartlepool is a great track, with dirt berms and runs downhill, guaranteeing exciting action! With the Derby rounds of the Nationals next week, Hartlepool will provide a great test and show who is on form.

It’s all about the Love for Andy

Andy “Boyband” Clucas is the latest addition to the Love Not Money team.

With enormous potential and banter to rival the best talkers in BMX, Andy is a welcome addition to LNM. Racing alongside Joe in 17-24 means we’ll have two riders who can push each other in this tough class.

See the Riders page for Andy’s profile.

No “I” in Team

The team standings have been released after the opening rounds of the Monster Energy British BMX Series (the jazzy new name for the Nationals) and LNM are currently ranked 21st!

The points earned by the four best finishing riders on each team count towards the standings, which means the smaller teams (such as LNM, we only have 4 riders at the moment!) can compete with larger ones, such as Ultimate BMX who have 19 riders!

Our points totals were;

ROY SUTTON
Cruiser 30-34 yr 28.5 & 34.0
JAMES TRESMAN
Cruiser 30-34 yr 21.0 & 22.0
ROSS GILL
Male 25-29 yr 15.5 & 17.5
JOE DAVENPORT
Male 17-24 yr 4.5 & 4.5

AC/DC rock BC

Ok, so it’s mainly an excuse to write that as a title, but as I was racing one of my motos AC/DC’s Thunderstruck blasted from the speakers, giving me a great boost as I rode round.

Anyway, on a less random note, check out the British Cycling report and pics gallery from Rounds 1 & 2 of the Nats. There’s a fantastic video by Corinne Walder that’s well worth a few views too!

BC Report

Say Cheeeeese!

Rounds 1 & 2 of the Monster Energy British BMX Series hit Cheddar this weekend, with Ross, Joe and Roy all in action for LNM.

Joe was up against some experienced riders in 17-24, many of them on clips, but got some great experience and only just missed out on the B Final on Sunday.

Ross got 3rd in the B Final on Sat and went one better with 2nd on Sun, despite a nasty thumb injury sustained in a crash with another rider in the second berm. He’s still angry about that one, roll on Derby!

Roy got 8th on Sat and 6th on Sun in the 30-34 mains, on a track he doesn’t like. He’s going to be on it for Derby.

Grabbing a Piece….
